Memorial Day 2012

Our family has many traditions.
One that I enjoy very much is
decorating Family graves on Memorial Weekend.
This year was no exception--
Here are the Prince Children/Grandchildren
at my father's grave site.
My favorite part of this tradition is
sharing memories of my Dad.
(I think the kids favorite part is
lunch at Chuck-o-Rama!)

Deja Vu

 Nearly thirty-one years ago
when Harold and I were engaged,
we found the Villa Maria Apartments
on State Street on the south side of Provo.
The was the place of our first home as a married couple.
Last year when Bryan and Sarah
were looking for apartments,
they discovered the same place!
They were not in the exact apartment, but pretty close!
Now that they are getting ready to move,
I thought I had better get some pictures
of Bryan and Sarah in front of their first home!

The End of School for Brad

Brad is coming to the end of
his Senior year of high school.
He graduated from Seminary
after four years of studying the gospel.
Brad was also honored at Scholarship Night
with the Wendall Watts Memorial Award.
This award goes to
the Outstanding Senior Male Athlete.

Way to go Brad!

Dancing Around the World

Gwen had her Dance Recital
and I enjoyed it so much.
Gwen left MCE Dance because
it was getting too big and crowded.
She has been at the Dancemaker Studios
this year and has enjoyed Miss Victoria.
Gwen loves Dancing with her Best Friend Maddie
Blake even joined us for the fun this year!

May is here . . . and that means Music!

When May rolls around each year
it is time for all the concerts and recitals
celebrating all the hard work
my children had done with music.
It is the result of many hours of practicing.
This year was not different.
The piano recital had only 2 Brockbanks --
Gwen played "Waterfall" and
Blake played Beethoven's "Third German Dance"

The Junior High held the annual Monster Concert.

Gwen was part of the Girls Jr. Choir.

At the High School, it was the Band Concerts.
Blake performed with the High School Percussion.

I always enjoy hearing my children perform.
Music is a wonderful thing in our lives.

Track

Brad has been participating in Track this spring.
He has been doing some throwing and a little running.
With our new region this year the track meets have
been all over and not very close.
I guess I will make that my excuse for not
getting to any of his meets.
(Along with the fact that he never gave us
a schedule and told us about the meet
at Murray after it was over.)
Harold was able to go to the meet this week
and took some amazing pictures of Brad.

Gotta Love Getting Old!

I have never had to wear glasses my entire life.
I have always been very happy that I had 20/20 vision.
Then about a year ago I became officially old . . .
and had to get reading glasses.
I definitely like having things clear and not fuzzy,
but using glasses is a pain --
I either have 4 pair on my desk
or I can't find a single pair.

When I saw this comic in the paper,
I knew it was going to be a blog post.
So for all you out there that are getting older everyday,
this is YOUR future too!
